News flash. Here is my story!

Athena and Languida set the example for the day.

Soline gets it!

How to describe your business and brand in a headline was our objective for today. And how to use a headline in marketing and to deepen employee understanding was a good discussion. But as we kicked off the Key Message Workshop with examples from ads we’ve seen in Kigali we saw the light bulbs beginning to flicker in the minds of the associates. Maybe there is something to this marketing thing after all. By the end of the morning, after each woman had developed her own message that she loved -- the lights were shining bright. It was an unmistakable Aha! moment.

Among our favorites :

"We make beautiful queens" . . . .Harriette's salon

"Plants add life and style to your home and business" . . . .Soline's landscaping and nursery

"Your happiness is our only joy". . .Sylvie's amusement park

"Fresh milk is always on our uruhimbi" . . .Console's dairy bar.

p.s. Don't know what a uruhimbi is? Its the traditional place in Rwandan homes where every child knows they will find milk

Sounds like it went well today--the pictures are wonderful, Cassie. Those of us on this end of the blog really get a sense of the dynamics of your experience there. In addition, the quality of light, and the warmth is in stark contrast to the grey skies and cold over here. Forget going to Florida, I say we winter in Rwanda! XXL

How fascinating that no matter where in the world we (you) are, the work is similar, and the responses of people, when they "get it", are the same. The photos and text really bring your experience alive, even all these miles away. Thanks so much.

I recently went through a branding campaign at the non-profit where I work. Through visiting this blog, I've learned the true essence of the power of branding. It really is the humanity and values that lie behind the logo. I'm astounded by the accounts of eyes lighting up upon viewing visual representations of deeply felt values and commitments. Hi Athena!

Hi Everyone -
I am so fascinated with the pictures and people I am seeing in Rwanda. I love that the associates are resonding to you all and using all the resources being offered to them. I can't wait to open the blog every morning. Stay safe.

The blog is a wonderful tutorial on Rwanda, marketing and the similarity, intelligence and strength of women around he world. Thanks and congratulations to all those in Rwanda and behind the scene. Miss you all.
Now a limerick:
There was a young lady from Rwanda
who went for a ride on a Honda
with the help of Bpeace
her business increased
so happily she now owns the Honda
Be safe, enjoy yourself and keep up the good work.

Peaceful branding!

It's great to read that the aha moments are fueling good discussion for the women and their businesses. It's hard not to smile from ear to ear when reading your account of the days and viewing the pictures that capture the spirit and energy of the work.

Be safe and keep the stories coming.

These women are so smart. All they needed was a little direction. This was a brilliant idea. Hoorah!

Hi Paula, this is Anna Houston, referred to you by David Goodman. He suggested I check out your blog so here I am. I am heading over to Rwanda on the 27th of January and will be there until June! I would love to be in contact with you and hopefully meet up sometime. I am traveling with a friend, but we will be living in Kigali the whole time, teaching English at the community center and high school. I think you can get my email through this account. Nice to see what you're up to! Marakoze!
